A storage water heater, often called a boiler, is an appliance fitted with a tank in which water is heated and held at temperature, ready to use. Unlike instantaneous models, it doesn't heat the water at the moment of draw-off but stores it, ensuring a constant reserve even when you open several taps at the same time.

What litre capacity to choose

The main criterion is the litre capacity of the tank, to be chosen according to the number of people and bathrooms:

  • 10 and 15 litres: ideal for the kitchen sink or a small cloakroom.
  • 50 and 80 litres: suited to one or two people with a daily shower.

When storage is better than instantaneous
